Elli Hatschek , née Lotz (born July 2, 1901 in Wetzlar , † December 8, 1944 in Berlin-Plötzensee ) was a German resistance fighter against National Socialism and a victim of National Socialism .

Life

Elli Lotz was the second spouse of postdoctoral engineer for optics - and film technology Paul Hatschek and living with him in Berlin . Hatschek had been recruited by the Soviet Union's military foreign secret service GRU and, due to his connections to the " European Union " resistance group of the USSR, tried to provide important information to help the attacked country and end the dictatorship of the NSDAP . Wife Elli was privy to his work and supported him. Because this activity was not hidden from the Nazi authorities, the couple were arrested in September 1943 and later tried before the People's Court . While Paul Hatschek and his daughter Krista Lavíčková, née Hatschek, were sentenced to death and executed in Brandenburg-Görden in May 1944 , the court only sentenced Elli Hatschek to death in November for her connection to the “European Union” and for “ degradation of military strength ”. She was executed on December 8, 1944 in Berlin-Plötzensee.

Her name is recorded in the "Book of Honor of the Victims of Berlin-Plötzensee".
