Elliott Dexter
Elliott Dexter (born March 29, 1870 in Galveston , Texas , † June 21, 1941 in Amityville , New York ) was an American film and stage actor .
life and career
Dexter started acting at the variety show . In 1915, at the age of 45, he switched to film. Over the course of the next ten years, Dexter made around 60 silent films , of which the productions directed by Cecil B. DeMille are probably the best known today. The elegant appearing actor mostly played cultivated characters, commuting between tasks as leading men and high-profile supporting roles. In 1925 he ended his Hollywood career.
Dexter married the film actress Marie Doro in 1915 and they divorced in 1922 childless. For his work in the cinema business, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 .
