Elmar Müller (soccer coach)

Elmar Müller (born February 21, 1948 ) is a German football coach .

Career

As a player, Müller was active in SV betting and in Sportfreunde Siegen . At the age of 28 he was already a coach for lower-class clubs, initially for one season at SuS Niederschelden and from 1977 to 1979 at VfB Wissen . In 1979 he took over command of his former club, Sportfreunde Siegen, in the Oberliga Westfalen ; he was a trainer here until 1984. Two years in the Oberliga Nordrhein at FV Bad Honnef followed. After this engagement, he first went to the Verbandsliga Westfalen for VSV Wenden , after a few months, however, he replaced in September 1986 Jürgen Open to the second division KSV Hessen Kassel , whose first team he served until April 1987th Werner Biskup was his successor in Kassel .

The 1988/89 season saw Müller in the Oberliga Südwest at FSV Salmrohr before he returned to the second division in the 1989/90 season. At the promoted Preußen Münster he was replaced by Ernst Mareczek after the 26th matchday . The 1-0 victory of the Prussians in the Park Stadium at FC Schalke 04 on September 10, 1989, remains unforgotten under Müller's responsibility .

On the eleventh game day of the 1995/96 season, Müller took over the coaching position at Bonner SC in the Regionalliga West / Südwest , but was dismissed after only five games.
