Elmira Magomedowna Kurbanowa ( Russian Эльмира Магомедовна Курбанова ; born September 14, 1971 ) is a former Russian wrestler .
Career
In the 1990s, she won a medal at five consecutive women's world championships . She reached the finals from 1993 to 1995: in 1993 she lost to the Chinese Chao-Li Wang in the battle for the gold medal , and the following year to the Canadian Christine Nordhagen . In 1995 she had to be content with silver after the loss to Lise Golliot . Overall, she won 3 silver and 2 bronze medals at the women's world championships. In 1993 Kurbanowa was European champion in wrestling.
