Elsa Calcagno

Elsa Calcagno (born October 19, 1910 in Buenos Aires , † 1978 ) was an Argentine pianist and composer.

Life

Calcagno studied at the Conservatory of Buenos Aires, where she was a student of Constantino Gaito , Ricardo Rodríguez, Ferruccio Calusio , Josué Teófilo Wilkes and Pascual de Rogatis , among others . She was a well-known concert pianist and music critic from Argentina.

In addition to an opera , a symphony , a choral symphony, a symphonic poem and a symphonic suite, she composed a piano and a cello concerto, a concerto for two violins, harp and strings, chamber music works, a cantata , choral works and songs .
