Else Bos

Else Bos (* 1959 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch manager who has been in charge of the financial market supervision of insurers and pension funds at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) since 2018 .

Career

Bos studied econometrics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam between 1978 and 1983 . She then worked for ABN AMRO and De Nationale Investeringsbank before moving to the Zorg en Welzijn pension fund in 2002 . After the administrative organization PGGM was replaced in 2008, in 2013 it became chairman of the board of the then second largest pension fund in the Netherlands.

In July 2017, she was appointed by the Dutch Ministry of Finance as Head of Supervision of Insurance Companies and Pension Funds at the Dutch Central Bank, with effect from 1 July 2018, and thus a member of the DNB Board of Directors. Her salary made the headline because her remuneration was not in line with the previous regulations, according to which it had to be below that of the responsible minister. An exception was made by the ministry “due to the unique combination of knowledge and experience”. she represents the DNB at the European supervisory authority EIOPA . She has been a trustee at the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation since 2017 .
