Else Brückner-Rüggeberg

Else Brückner-Rüggeberg (born April 28, 1910 in Graz , Austria , † October 26, 1981 in Baden-Baden , Germany ) was a German actress, speaker and radio host.

Life

Else Brückner-Rüggeberg comes from a family of artists. Her father Max Brückner-Rüggeberg was an actor. Her brothers Wilhelm Brückner-Rüggeberg and Friedrich Brückner-Rüggeberg also chose an artist 's profession . As a young woman she took acting lessons in Berlin and Munich and made her debut in Szczecin in 1928. As a young lover, she played numerous roles, including in "Rose Bernd", "The Robbers" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream". In 1939 she switched to the Berlin Reichsfunk as artistic spokesperson and stayed there until the end of the war. She then worked for the Berliner Rundfunk and RIAS , before following the call of the newly founded Südwestfunk (now Südwestrundfunk ) to Baden-Baden in 1948 . She remained loyal to him even after her retirement in 1975 and took over the moderation of various programs. Her deep, dark voice was known throughout the Southwest. During her 33 years at SWF she occasionally played at the Stadttheater Baden-Baden, took part in television programs and worked as a speaker for documentaries.
