Else Wagener (pianist)
Else Wagener (full name Else Gertrud Ida Sophia Wagener ; born April 10, 1882 in Berlin , † after 1912) was a German pianist , music teacher and chamber musician .
Life
Else Wagener, born in Berlin in 1882, grew up temporarily in Bremen , from where she moved to Hanover with her parents in 1895 . There she first studied with “Fräulein Maria Reinecke , sister of the composer Reinecke ” before taking her exams as a piano teacher in 1900. From 1900 to 1902 she studied in Leipzig at the Conservatory for Music there .
In 1911 Else Wagener worked mainly as a chamber musician, while she took in-depth lessons as a student of the director of the Hanover Conservatory and court pianist Emil Evers .
At the end of 1911, Wagener and the pianist Walter Meyer-Radon accompanied a recital performed by the Finnish singer Maikki Järnefelt with the artist Hetta von Schmidt in Berlin .
