The Elsebeth class was built by Iwagi Zosen Co., Ltd in Japan from 1998 to 2000 and consists of four reefer vessels.

With a length of 152 m, width of 23 m and a draft of 8.7 m, the ships have a measurement of 10,532 GT and a dead weight of 10,346 tdw. At the rated speed of 21 knots with 16,200 hp, the ships have a daily consumption of 44 t heavy fuel oil for the main engine. The four ships have deckhouses arranged aft and four holds with 4 decks each, a total volume of 15,515 cbm and 6,244 sqm of pallet storage space. The 16 compartments have 8 independent temperature zones. The cargo cooling system was designed for the temperature range from –30 ° C to +15 ° C and 90-fold air exchange and was equipped for operation with a controlled atmosphere (CA). There are additional spaces on deck for refrigerated containers (212 TEU or 106 FEU) and 106 refrigerated container sockets have been installed. The four cranes arranged in the middle of the deck lift 2 × 36 tons and 2 × 8 tons each.

The propulsion is provided by a two-stroke diesel engine built by Mitsubishi with an output of 16,200 hp, which allows a speed of 21.0 knots. A total of four 4-stroke Yanmar auxiliary diesels, 2 each of the Yanmar 6N260L type with 1103 kW and 2 each of the Yanmar M200L-EN type with 552 kW are used for the power supply.
