Elvira Hoffmann
Elvira Hoffmann (born May 2, 1941 in Dahlbruch , Siegen-Wittgenstein district) is a German writer , journalist and non-fiction author .
Her most successful work to date, the youth novel Ausstieg , describes the drug career of a young woman from a middle-class background on the basis of extensive research. The volume of stories Sand in the Gears deals with the question of whether and to what extent Christian faith can still provide orientation. In Frauke, the girl by the sea along with the sequel Reunion by the Sea , the author draws a sensitive portrait of the pubescent heroine and her northern German milieu. In her books for children and young people, Elvira Hoffmann deals sensitively with the language and emotions of young readers. Her entertaining and descriptive non-fiction books on horse-related professions and the trend sport inline skating show the journalistic talent of the author, who has worked for several newspapers. In her novel Separated So Close she tells of a German-German friendship in the decades before reunification .
Translations of her works have appeared in the Netherlands, Portugal, Greece and Brazil. Your children's wear sweat pants foxes? or The garbage auction appeared in a radio play adaptation by Europa (radio play label) . Elvira Hoffmann lives in Lüdenscheid .
