Elysian Park is a quarter of the US metropolis of Los Angeles .

Elysian Park belongs to the central region of Los Angeles. It is bordered by the neighborhoods of Chinatown , Cypress Park , Echo Park , Elysian Valley , Glassell Park, and Lincoln Heights . The heart of the district is Elysian Park, which gives the district its name . The park is the oldest urban park and the second largest public park in Los Angeles after Griffith Park .

Elysian Park has one of the lowest population densities in Los Angeles County and the City of Los Angeles. According to the 2000 census, 2530 people lived in the area. According to estimates by the city planning commission, there were 2659 inhabitants in 2008. The census found that 47.6% of the residents were Latinos and 43.5% were Asian. 54.4% of residents were born outside of the United States . The most frequently named countries of origin were China and Mexico .
