The Società Anonima Emanuele Centonze (ECSA), based in Balerna near Chiasso, is an internationally active Swiss trading company in chemical and petroleum products . The family company employs 240 people and in 2007 generated sales of 210 million Swiss francs.

ECSA offers products and services in the three areas of raw materials , energy and maintenance systems .
In the raw materials sector, the company sells substances for the food, chemical, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. The energy division includes trading in heating oil , gasoline , diesel , AdBlue , jet fuel and bitumen . The maintenance systems division includes the sale of lubricants , products for surface treatment in civil engineering and in industry, as well as work clothing and products for accident prevention and personal protective equipment .
The two main camps are in Balerna and Flawil . The company also operates two of its own stores in the form of pick-up shops and 26 petrol stations as a BP representative , 20 of which are in Ticino and six in western Switzerland .
history
The company was founded in 1913 as a sole proprietorship in Chiasso. In 1925 it took over the representation of British Petroleum in Switzerland. In 1927 the company was converted into a stock corporation. In 1959 the subsidiary ECSA Italia Srl was founded in Milan .
Over the course of time, the company expanded its infrastructure by building and expanding an underground facility for chemical liquids with its own siding, a fuel oil tank farm, a tank system for chemical basic and intermediate products with its own rail connection, a warehouse for chemicals and flammable substances, and the opening of its own filling station network .
