Embalse de El Limonero is a reservoir in the municipality of Málaga in Andalusia .

Construction of the dam on the Guadalmedina River began in 1980 and was completed in 1983. The construction of the around 400 meter long and 95 meter high arched dam was made of rock and earth. The stability of the structure is given by its own weight and the flat angle of slope. The waterproofing was done with different layers of clay.

The reservoir with a length of around 2.6 kilometers covers an area of ​​104 hectares and stores around 25 cubic hectometers of industrial water and serves as a source of supply for the city water supply for the city of Málaga.
