Emek ha-Jarden (מועצה אזורית עמק הירדן; Mo'aza Asorit Emek Jarden) is a regional association in Israel, which is located in the valley of the same name in the northern district of Israel . It borders the Sea of Galilee and Bet She'an . It was the first regional association in Israel, founded in 1949. Most of the settlements are on Highway 90 , which runs parallel to the Jordan on the west bank of the Sea of Galilee. 12,400 people live in the 71 km² administrative area (as of 2014).

In March 1997, a Jordanian border guard opened fire on an Israeli school class from Beit Shemesh in Naharayim and killed seven girls. The class visited a hydroelectric power plant built by Pinchas Ruthenberg . This was inaugurated in 1932 and supplied the north of the mandate area and the palace of the Jordanian emir Abdallah ibn Husain I with electricity until 1947 .
