Emil Capitaine
Emil Capitaine (* 1861 in Eilenburg ; † 1907 ) was a German engine designer, inventor and entrepreneur. Capitaine became known in 1897 for his nullity suit against Rudolf Diesel for the authorship and invention of the diesel engine - Capitaine claimed Diesel's invention was his. Capitaine was creative and held several patents, including a. on a two-stroke engine with high compression (1889), a mechanical keyboard player (1890) and a motorized bicycle (1896). The Capitaine gas engine was used as a ship engine in the 1890s.
