Emil Fleischer (born June 11, 1843 in Schwedt / Oder ; † June 1928 ) was a German chemist.

His father, Maximilian Fleischer (1812–71) was a chemist from Ratibor . His mother Pauline (1822–1905) was the daughter of the Prussian bailiff Salomon Freund. His brother, Richard Fleischer (* 1849 in Breslau) became the editor of Deutsche Revue.

After becoming a Dr. phil. After receiving his doctorate, he became a private citizen in Dresden. Together with his father, who had become aware of a small celestine deposit in Silesia, he earned merit in the use of the Strontian process in molasses preparation . (The so-called strontian process consists in binding the sugar of the molasses to strontian and then decomposing the strontian sugar (strontian saccharate) again with carbonic acid. Strontium oxide hydrate is used for this, which is obtained by annealing natural strontianite and treating the annealed mineral with water .) In 1871 the Dessauer Aktien-Zucker-Raffinerie was founded, which applied his method. He also made contributions to titration methodology and gas decomposition. He provided a scientific justification for the Dellwik-Fleischer process invented by Karl Dellwik for the production of water gas. In Frankfurt they founded the Dellwik-Fleischer-Wassergasgesellschaft mbH .
