Emil Hossu

Emil Hossu (born November 24, 1941 in Ocna Sibiului , Sibiu County , † January 25, 2012 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian actor .

Life

After Northern Transylvania fell to Hungary as a result of the Second Vienna Arbitration , the Hossu family moved to Cluj . Since his father worked for the Ion Antonescu government , he and his family were taken to a camp in Germany in August 1945, where they had to stay for a year and three months. The family then returned to Romania - but their property was confiscated. In 1948, Hossu's father was committed to forced labor on the Danube-Black Sea Canal; he died soon after, so that Emil Hossu lost his father at the age of 17.

Emil Hossu attended the state drama school and got his first roles in radio plays; later he played in numerous films; he was a member of the ensemble in the Nottara Theater in Bucharest.

Hossu was married to his colleague Catrinel Dumitrescu , the couple lived in Bucharest .
