Emil Limbeck

Emil Limbeck (born October 12, 1909 in Ketsch ; † November 15, 1978 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending primary school, Limbeck worked as a furniture painter. He joined the SAJ during the Weimar Republic and joined the SPD, for which he also worked after the National Socialists came to power and the party was banned in 1933. As a result, he was arrested in April 1936 and sentenced to one year and two months in prison in December 1936. From 1940 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . In 1941 he was seriously wounded during the campaign in Africa.

After the end of the war, Limbeck worked as an employee. He rejoined the Social Democrats, had been chairman of the SPD Ketsch since 1945 and was elected chairman of the SPD Mannheim in 1954. He was also a district councilor in the Mannheim district and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. In the state elections in 1960 and 1964 , he was elected as a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , to which he was a member until 1968, through a direct mandate from the Mannheim -Land I constituency .
