Emil Marx

Emil Marx (born December 12, 1895 in Elberfeld , † July 18, 1963 in Wuppertal ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament of the ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he completed an apprenticeship as a book printer and was employed as a book printing press master until 1946. Until 1933 Marx was chairman of the Gutenberg-Bund (Christian union of German book printers). From 1946 he was managing director of the CDU in Wuppertal .

In 1945 he was one of the founders of the CDU in Wuppertal. August 17, 1945 was of particular importance here, on which the Villa Halstenbach next to Marx u. a. the Adenauer intimus Robert Pferdmenges and the later Federal President Gustav Heinemann met.

From December 19, 1946 to July 4, 1954 and from July 21, 1958 to July 20, 1962, Marx was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was always directly elected in the constituencies 056 Wuppertal-Ost and 053 Wuppertal I. In addition, he was a member of the state parliament in the second term of office.

He was a member of the city council of the city of Wuppertal from February 1946 to October 1946.
