Emil Walch (born December 17, 1902 in Stuben , Vorarlberg ; † November 14, 1967 there ) was an Austrian ski racer . In the late 1920s and early 1930s, he achieved several top positions in international races.

Emil Walch, whose younger brother Willi was also a ski racer, began skiing as a teenager. In the 1920s he took part in the first regional ski races. His first major successes came in 1929 at the Arlberg-Kandahar races in St. Anton : He was fourth in the downhill race and ninth in the combination. In the winter of 1931 Walch was even able to win the slalom in the AK races and with seventh place in the downhill he came third in the combination. The next year his best results were eighth place in the downhill of the Arlberg-Kandahar race in Mürren and ninth place in the Parsenn derby in Davos . In the winter of 1932, Vorarlberg took second place in the Parsenn derby and on Jungfraujoch he took third place in the slalom and second place in the combination in the downhill. Walch drove his last race in 1933. With fourth place in the Parsenn downhill in Davos, he achieved the last good result.

After his sporting career, Walch returned to his learned profession as a stove builder and also as a ski instructor and mountain guide. He later built his own hotel in Stuben.
