Emilie Bouwman

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Emilie Bouwman (born November 12, 1943 in Haarlem , North Holland ) is a Dutch photo model and fashion designer , who embodied the advertising character Ms. Antje for over twenty years and thus achieved great fame in Germany. In the Netherlands, on the other hand, she is known for her work in the fashion industry.

Life

Bouwman graduated cum laude from Vogue Studio Amsterdam in 1965 and studied art history at the University of Montpellier . In 1963 she won a casting against the then "Frau Antje" Kitty Janssen and took over the embodiment of the character. After ten years, Bouwman was briefly replaced in 1974 by the younger Ellen Soeters. Bouwman got the role back after a baby break after Soeters had himself photographed for Playboy , causing a scandal.

At the end of the 1980s, Bouwman gave up the figure of Frau Antje and started working in the fashion industry. She founded the modeling agency Favorite PR Events & Models in Amsterdam, which she still runs today (as of 2009). With the agency, she organized successful fashion shows with well-known Dutch designers such as Frank Govers and Edgar Vos and initiated the Robijn Fashion Award. In 2007 she received the Society Award for her services to Dutch haute couture .
