Emily Barber (* 20th century ) is a British actress in theater , film and television .

life and career

Emily Barber made her professional theatrical debut in 2013 in the play Cornelius for the Finborough Theater at the end of her freshman year at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD) - a role she did for a New York transfer as part of the the following year 59E59 Theaters 'Brits off Broadway Festival' repeated. During her senior year at RWCMD, Emily was supported by a Richard Carne Trust scholarship designed to nurture talented young people in the performing arts. She was named Best Newcomer at the Manchester Theater Awards in 2015 for her role in Billy Liar , and a year later she was nominated for the Ian Charleson Award for her performance in Innogen in Cymbeline at The Globe .

She made her debut as an actress on television in 2018 in the series Endeavor . Barber played other roles in the US drama series The Royals as Cassandra Von Halen and a year later in 2019 in two episodes in the British television series Call the Midwife, first broadcast by the BBC in 2012 . For the sequel The Alienist: Angel of Darkness of the American crime series The Alienist - Die Einkreisung , which is based on the novel Die Einkreisung (in Original The Alienist ) by Caleb Carr , she was cast in 2019 for the role of Violet Hayward and plays there alongside actors like Daniel Brühl , Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning .

In addition to several roles in short films, she played her first female leading role in The Importance of Being Earnest on Stage in 2015 under the direction of Adrian Noble alongside David Suchet .
