Emily Diamand

Emily Diamand (* 1971 in London ) is a British author. She became known through the youth book trilogy Flutland .

Life

Diamand grew up in Oxfordshire . She was a committed environmentalist since her youth and studied environmental sciences after graduating from school ; after graduating, she worked for Friends of the Earth for eight years .

In 2008 she won with her first novel, the Times - Chicken House -Schreibwettbewerb for debut authors. What is unusual is that she won directly with the first part of a trilogy . The first volume was first published in October 2008 under the title Reavers Ransom , then in July 2009 as Flood Child (German title: Flutland ). In 2010 the second band Flood & Fire followed . The books are about the experiences of two children in a 23rd century England that is largely flooded as a result of global warming .

She lives with her husband and her son Matthew in Harrogate ( Yorkshire ).
