Emma Shapplin (born May 19, 1974 as Crystêle Madeleine Joliton in the Paris suburb of Savigny-le-Temple ) is a French singer.

Life

Emma Shapplin took an interest in music at the age of fourteen and was tutored in classical singing by a 70-year-old former singer. After a phase as a singer in a hard rock group, she returned to classical singing. She developed her own style by combining opera singing with trance and pop. Her 1997 debut album "Carmine Meo" and the single "Spente le stelle" were successful and she received two gold records for the album.

Her album Macadam Flower (2009) was written and composed by herself. In 2014 her album Dust of a Dandy was released .
