Emmaboda is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Kalmar län and the historic province of Småland . It is the capital of the municipality of the same name .

history

The name is first recorded as Æmbebode in 1498 and contains an old name in the prefix for the river Lyckebyån flowing through the place, Emån with the old Swedish name Æmb . The suffix boda refers in the plural form to a collection of (reserve) stores .
