Emmanuel Piget

Emmanuel Piget (born February 25, 1984 in Cognac ) is a French racing driver .

Career

Piget began his motorsport career in 1997 in kart racing , in which he was active until 2000. In 2001 he switched to formula racing and took part in seven out of ten races in the Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup for TCS Racing . In 2002 he took part in two races in this series for the racing team. He was left without points. In addition, he took part in the French Formula Renault in 2002 and finished 17th overall. In 2003 he improved to tenth place with a podium finish. In 2004 he took part in two races each of the French Formula Renault and the winter series of the Spanish Formula 3 championship .

After a break of several years, Piget returned to motorsport in 2009. For the Novo Team ECA he competed in the season finale of the European F3 Open , which emerged from the Spanish Formula 3 championship. Piget won the Copa classification in the first race . In 2010 Piget started the season in the European F3 Open for MP Racing . Although he finished third in the first event, his team did not take part in the third race weekend. On the fourth race weekend, Piget and MP Racing made a one-off return to the European F3 Open and once again achieved third place. The rest of the season Piget did not participate in any racing series. He was tenth in the drivers' championship.

After Piget paused again, he returned to motorsport in 2013 . He received a cockpit at Zeta Corse for the Formula Renault 3.5 season opener . The commitment came about at short notice, as the team had not found a second driver and Piget was fondly remembered by team manager Claudio Corradini.
