Emmerauentunnel
The Emmerauentunnel is an 850 m long road tunnel in the area of the East Westphalian city of Lügde in North Rhine-Westphalia and part of the L 614 bypass , which was completed in October 2010 and has now freed the historic city center of Lügde from traffic.
description
The bypass road leads through the Emmerauen. This means that the tunnel is located in the floodplain of the Emmer River , so that special construction measures were necessary to build in the groundwater and to prevent the river water from entering the tunnel structures. The tunnel was built using the cut-and-cover method.
Building data
The roadway lies below the water table. The tunnel is around 850 m long and has two lanes over a width of 7.5 m.
toll
Due to the extremely high construction costs, a road user fee for the use of the Emmerauentunnel was under discussion. This has not been implemented.
