Emmy Bernatzik

Emmy Bernatzik (born April 3, 1904 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary as Emilie Maria Wilhelmine Winkler; † July 27, 1977 in Einsiedeln, Switzerland) was an Austrian ethnologist , author and important collaborator of her husband, the ethnologist Hugo Bernatzik .

Life

Emmy Bernatzik studied psychology and ethnology in Vienna from 1927, but did not complete these studies. On June 19, 1928, she married Hugo Adolf Bernatzik, whom she accompanied on many expeditions. As a music ethnologist, research assistant, co-author, secretary and agent, she was jointly responsible for the success of her husband and published columnist works herself.
