The Ems-Vechte-Welle is an advertising-free community radio that serves the Lower Saxony districts of Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim . The station's program is broadcast in parts of the Cloppenburg district . It is divided into the editorial program and the community radio. The editorial program is made by radio professionals and is broadcast from Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. This includes the Frühmagazin (6 to 9 - Der Morgen im Emsland and Grafschaft Bentheim) and the regional information program "Durch den Tag" (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). In addition, the station always broadcasts the latest regional news every half hour.

Citizens' radio is also very diverse, for example there is the culture magazine Spektrum , Bluestime or Ellens Groove with songs from the field of black music . As part of the open public offer, schoolchildren from the city of Werlte and the region have the chance to produce programs with the help of a media educator .

The managing director is Jan Schenkewitz, who is also one of the founding members of the study society for Emsland regional history . Inga Graber was the station's editor-in-chief until April 2018. In 2014 she was awarded the Lower Saxony Media Prize and received the prize in the special category of business. Her weekly series on Nordhorn's textile history "Nordhorn en Vogue" received an award.

From June to August 2018, Lars Cohrs was editor-in-chief of Ems-Vechte-Welle. The position was not filled afterwards.
