The Emsland fresh poultry GmbH is a German producer of chicken fresh meat , based in Haren . The market share, measured in terms of total German chicken meat production in kilograms, is around 20 percent. Emsland Frischgeflügel is part of the Rothkötter group of companies .

The company specializes in the production of fresh and frozen chicken parts for food retailers and industrial processing companies. The stages of vertically integrated production range from egg to chick, from feed production to meat processing.

history

The company was founded in 2003 and developed from the chicken marketing of the Rothkötter Group, which had existed since the late 1980s and set up the slaughterhouse and cutting plant in Haren-Hüntel. In 2007 the company was expanded by a second line and today has a capacity of approx. 200,000 t slaughter weight per year.

In October 2010 the Kindergarten "Chicks & Friends" was opened.

The company has been certified according to ISO 14001 since 2012 and according to the ISO 50001 energy management system since 2014. Emsland Frischgeflügel operates its own sewage treatment plant and waterworks, as well as its own CHP. Heat recovery takes place in all relevant systems.

Employee

The company currently employs around 1,800 people, 80 percent of whom are permanent and 20 percent are temporary workers.
