Enchant is a progressive - rock band from the United States . Stylistically, the band is compared to Saga or Marillion , their style is particularly melody-based. Characteristic of their music are the virtuoso bass playing by Ed Platt and Ted Leonard's vocals, which are partly reminiscent of Steve Walsh from Kansas . Her lyrics deal critically with society and process personal experiences of the band members (e.g. Sinking Sand ).

Enchant was founded in 1989, but their debut album A Blueprint Of The World was released four years later. The Californians got help from Steve Rothery, the guitarist of the Marillion group. The work was well received by the trade press and is now considered one of their most popular.

Enchant released their ninth studio album, The Great Divide , on September 29, 2014 after a break of over 10 years.

Several members of the band are also active in other formations, such as B. singer Ted Leonard with Spock's Beard or keyboardist Bill Jenkins with Sound of Contact.

In autumn 2015 they came back to Western Europe after a decade and played a few concerts.

All band members have a permanent job.
