Enchufe.tv is an Ecuadorian web series produced by the production company Touché Films from Quito . The show consists of sketches published on the production company's YouTube channel and on the Ecuadorian television channel Ecuavisa .
History and Development
In 2011, the Ecuadorian filmmakers Leonardo Robalino, Christian Moya, Martín Domínguez and Jorge Ulloa were dissatisfied with the state of audiovisual productions in their country. So they decided to start producing humorous short films and publish them on the Internet. Operation of the YouTube channel began in November of the same year .
program
The skits, which usually have a duration of four to five minutes, are published weekly on Sundays. The so-called MicroYAPA , short skits with a duration of ten to 60 seconds, are published on Tuesdays. A preview of upcoming skits appears on Thursdays. The skits reflect everyday life in Ecuador. They deal with topics such as the irony of personal experiences, popular sayings, Ecuadorian traditions as well as family and love . As a result, Enchufe.TV quickly found acceptance in Ecuador and the Latin American region.
Range
As of December 2014, Enchufe.TV's YouTube channel had more than seven million subscribers. According to statistics, most of the viewers came from Mexico in mid-2013 , followed by Colombia , Peru and Ecuador. On November 3, 2013, Enchufe.TV received a Golden Play , an award for YouTube channels with more than 1 million subscribers. On September 7, 2014, Enchufe.tv won the "Show of the Year" award in the Streamy Awards .
