Encyclopaedie van Nederlandsch West-Indië

The Encyclopaedie van Nederlandsch West-Indië ( German  : Encyclopedia of Dutch West Indies ) is an encyclopedia in Dutch with maps that was published between 1914 and 1917.

The editors were the co-authors Herman Daniël Benjamin (1850-1933) and Johannes François Snelleman (1852-1938). Around 80 other authors were involved in the first edition, such as the botanist August Adriaan Pulle and the geologist Herman van Cappelle.

This encyclopedia dealt with the former Dutch colonies in the Dutch Caribbean and Suriname .

The work, which appeared in deliveries of 64 pages each, was published in Dutch with a length of 792 pages in The Hague and Leiden 1914–1917 by Martinus Nijhoff and EJ Brill.

Later editions dealing with these areas are the Encyclopedie van de Nederlandse Antillen 1969 (2nd edition 1985) and the Encyclopedie van Suriname 1977.
