Deadline
A key date is a specific date that is linked to a condition. Due dates are determined in advance when, for example, B. Change laws.
Conditions for the fulfillment of a key date can be, for example:
- ... if you have reached a certain age on the reference date, then ...
- ... if you live in a certain place on the reference date, then ...
A regular collection of reference dates is recorded in the German newspaper statistics .
Demarcation
When specifying figures or other information, the key date must be distinguished from the status : "As of December 31, 2011, 10,125,386 cars were registered in Germany (status January 20, 2012)."
- the reference date indicates the point in time to which the information relates (how many cars were registered at the end of 2011);
- the status indicates when this information was created (the number can therefore change later if, for example, not all admission offices have entered their numbers in the statistics by January 20th).
Days in pawn rules , on the other hand, are referred to as lottery days .
Examples
January 1st is often chosen as the reference date. Known key dates are also the balance sheet date or the submission date for the tax return.
The right to vote is always linked to a key date.
