Endevor ( En vironment for Dev elopers and O pe r ations ) is a change management program of the company CA, Inc. for version control in software life cycles . IT market research company Forrester Research reports on Endevor in its Process-Centric Software Configuration Management report , which compares the world's leading process-oriented software configuration management tools.
Endevor is currently mainly used in the professional mainframe environment (for example under IBM- z / OS ) for version management, but is also available for Eclipse .
When the sources are switched between the development layers , the JCL and DB2- relevant interfaces for the executable modules are integrated. In particular, the PLAN-PACKAGE administration is taken over by Endevor.
Version 18 of the software is currently being delivered. In addition to training courses offered by the manufacturer, an international coordination organization of the Endevor user groups has existed since 1992 , 26 of which are officially recognized by CA. Since 1994 there has been a local product-specific conference for users from the German-speaking application area, in which operational users coordinate with each other and with representatives of the manufacturer about new developments, possible uses and methods of use of the software. This conference has been organized by its own association ( German ENDEVOR User Conference (DENK)) since 2000 .
Representatives of the following Endevor users took part in the DENK conferences: Abraxas , Atos Origin , Bayerische Landesbank , Concordia Krankenkasse , DekaBank , dwpbank , EDS , Lufthansa Systems , SEB AG , Siemens , VHV solutions GmbH , W&W Informatik , Zurich Financial Services .
