Dinesh Mishra (* 1969 in Varanasi , India ) is an Indian flute player and composer .

Career

Mishra began his music career in 1989 through various appearances with well-known musicians. In the early 1990s he completed his teaching at the Faculty of Performing Arts, Banaras Hindu University with a diploma in “classical Indian bamboo flute music”. As a former master student of the Indian musician Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia , he now appears both with bands and as a solo artist all over the world. In Europe he works z. B. with Markus Stockhausen , Nippy Noya , TM Stevens , Jim Galakti and others.

Dinesh has been composing and producing film music for many Bollywood films since 1995. In addition, he has been working as a flute teacher for the Mumbai Education Trust since 2003 and has taught many young students around the world.

Since 2007 he has been coming to Europe for two three months a year as “ Artist in Residence ” at the Academy of Cultures in North Rhine-Westphalia. He presents his world music - a mixture of classical Indian music, European jazz and other ethnic influences - and teaches as part of the “International Academy for Intuitive World Music” program developed with Rechungpa Reinhard Kreckel. Professional and ambitious musicians as well as students from all universities - the latter even free of charge with the support of the BMBF - can make completely new musical experiences in study projects with final concerts.

In the Ruhr area, he teaches world music improvisation, intuitive music and classical Indian music for professionals, up-and-coming artists and youngsters in the Bola - House of Cultures , the educational establishment of the Academy of Cultures NRW in Bochum .
