history

Until 1998, the IT offices of the Canton of Zurich and the Canton of St. Gallen were independent companies employed by the state. With the founding of Abraxas Informatik AG, these two offices were merged and an independent ICT company was formed, which expanded its locations over the years. Initially, the company was responsible for operator services at data centers . Subsequently, the company expanded to the development of specialist applications and finally also provided consulting and integration services for customers.

In 1999 he took over from the Office for IT in St. Gallen. In 2000 he took over the office for computer science in Zurich, in 2005 from pebe Steu (tax software developer) and one year later from Grah SA (JURIS owner).

In April 2018 the company merged with Verwaltungsrechenzentrum AG St. Gallen (VRSG). With over 800 employees and branches in all language regions, the new Abraxas Informatik AG is today the largest provider of end-to-end IT solutions for the public sector in Switzerland and also an address for medium-sized companies.

The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abraxas Informatik AG, which emerged from GRAH SA in Winterthur.
