Energy, the driving force was a German television program that dealt with the physical phenomenon of energy .

The basics of energy theory, such as the differences between disordered ( thermal ) and ordered (mechanical, chemical and electrical) energy, as well as the application and use of energy, for example in the form of thermal power plants, were explained . The principles of nuclear fission and fusion were also topics of the series. Critical reports were made about the emergence of nuclear energy .

Jean Pütz wrote this series in 1969. It was his first scientific series for television; it was broadcast in 1970 on WDR in 13 episodes of 45 minutes each.
