Engelbert Brenter
Engelbert Brenter (* 1897 ; † 1976 in Hallein ) was an Austrian inventor and entrepreneur.
Life
Born in Carinthia from Sankt Urban , he founded his own company in 1923 as a master wagoner in Hallein / Salzburg as a toboggan and ski manufacturer.
On March 10, 1949, he registered his invention, the "Sitzski", for design protection and subsequently as a patent, thus marking the birth of the modern skibob sport. Approx. One year after Engelbert Brenter, Reiss-Schmidt registered a similar product in Germany. In 1952, Georg Gfäller and many others followed with their own patents. But only Brenter's invention remained really successful over the years. His company is now in its third generation and is successfully active on the global market with the successor product to his invention.
His son Erich Brenter (born 1941) continued his father's business from 1967 to 2003 .
