Engelbert Katzlberger

Engelbert Katzlberger (born July 27, 1868 in Aspach , Upper Austria ; † August 7, 1959 there ) was an Austrian farmer and politician .

Life

The farmer's son married a farmer's daughter at the age of 30 and took over the family's farm. He took the initiative in founding the Schärdinger tea butter company, the Geinberg warehouse cooperative and water cooperatives. From 1922 to 1936 he was a member of the state culture council and advisory board in the agriculture ministry. In addition, Katzlberger was also active in local and state politics. Since 1900 he was a member of the community committee of Aspach and between 1909 and 1924 and between 1929 and 1938 mayor of this community. In 1909 Katzlberger was elected to the Upper Austrian state parliament and then sent to the provisional state assembly . The short man was one of the most agile members of the state parliament. Katzlberger was also a founding member of the farmers' union and from 1919 to 1923 a member of the state board.
