Engelbert Weilharter

Engelbert Weilharter (born March 16, 1953 in St. Ruprecht-Falkendorf , Styria ) is an Austrian mechatronics technician, insurance agent and politician ( FPÖ ).

Life

After secondary school , Weilharter graduated from the Polytechnic and from 1968 to 1972 he learned the profession of motor vehicle mechatronics technician , in which he worked until 1975, before he trained as an insurance agent via the second education path and has been in this profession ever since.

His political career began in 1979, when he for the Freedom Party in the Municipal Council of Stolzalpe moved. He remained a councilor until 1988. In 1986 he moved as a member of his party to the Styrian Landtag , to which Weilharter belonged until 1996.

From 1990 to 1995 he was a councilor in Murau before he was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna in 1996 . He was then Federal Councilor until 2005; between 1999 and 2005 he also acted as a "steward" for the second Austrian parliamentary chamber.
