Enrique Almada (comedian)
Enrique Almada , also known as Eduardo Almada , (born July 15, 1934 in Barrio Sur , Montevideo , Uruguay ; † April 29, 1990 ibid.) Was a Uruguayan comedian, actor, writer, composer and musician.
Life
Almada, who mainly lived in the Montevidean Barrio Sur on Calle Isla de Flores and was married to Elena Rey , began his acting career in the early 1950s at the side of Eduardo Freda . Among other things, he appeared with the theater group Mecha Bustos ' at the Teatro Stella D'Italia . He has worked in various films and the TV comedy series Telecataplum , Jaujarana , Hupumorpo and Hiperhumor . He also wrote the screenplay for the 1980 film Toto Paniagua , directed by Carlos Orgambide , in which Almada also starred. For his incidental music composition for García Lorca's piece Así pasen cinco años , Almada was awarded the prize for the best music of the season of 1957.
On the occasion of his death, the Uruguayan Senate unanimously adopted a minute's silence for Almada at the session on May 9, 1990.
A street in Montevideo was named after Almada in 2011. Already on October 23, 2008, by resolution of the Junta Departamental of Montevideo, the street calle Miní was renamed to Almada.
