Enrique Ostos Luzuriaga (born March 22, 1918 in Mexico City , † after 1938), also known under the nickname El Chamaco (German The Boy ) or El Licenciado (German The Academic ), was a Mexican football player on the position of a striker .

career

Ostos gained his first footballing experience in the youth team of a Mexican capital club called Lusitania . After Rafael Garza Gutiérrez , long-time coach and founder of today's record champions Club América , became aware of Ostos, he accepted him into his club, where Ostos initially played in the second team, but quickly made the leap into the first team.

Overall, Ostos played for seven years for Club America, with whom he won the Mexican Cup competition in the 1937/38 season. In the final against Real Club España , America was in dire straits with its own 2-1 lead by the Españistas, who pressed for the equalizer. In the midst of this urge phase, Ostos succeeded ten minutes before the end of the game with a remarkable goal of the 3-1 final score, which allowed America to celebrate the first cup triumph in the club's history.

At the age of 24 Ostos ended his career for financial reasons, because he earned more than twice as much from his other job as from playing football.
