Ensemble Kirchplatz (Weilheim in Upper Bavaria)
The ensemble church square in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria , the county seat of Upper Bavaria district Weilheim-Schongau , is an architectural ensemble , under monument stands.
The square in front of the south side of the parish church of the Assumption of Mary , touched by Hofstrasse and Pöltner Strasse, was built after the demolition of the old 14th century hospital and its church in 1826.
The square is dominated by the church. The west, south and north sides are enclosed by bourgeois residential and commercial buildings from the 19th century and some new buildings. Some of these buildings belonged to the old hospital courtyard, the extent of which can still be seen in the plaza.
