Ensemble Hofstraße (Weilheim in Upper Bavaria)
The ensemble Hofstraße in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria , the county seat of Upper Bavaria district Weilheim-Schongau , is an architectural ensemble , under monument stands.
The narrow street leads south from the church square to the former seat of the district judge in the south-east corner of the old town, the later rent office and today's tax office. The building group located directly on the city wall stands on the site of the former castle seat of the noble free von Weilheim in the 11th / 12th. Century (see list of ground monuments in Weilheim in Upper Bavaria ).
The partly very high development with town houses from the 18th / 19th centuries Century creates a street scene with a strong spatial effect. Narrow gabled houses alternate with wider eaves side buildings . The plaster facades are often structured. The east side of the street is characterized by a remarkable series of staggered gables.
