Ensemble Marktplatz (Ortenburg)
The ensemble marketplace in Ortenburg , a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Passau is a building complex , which under monument stands. The buildings Marktplatz 1 to 30 and 32 as well as the Untermarkt 1 building belong to the ensemble.

The market square, a north-south facing, closed building, in the layout probably very medieval street square, lies at the foot of the Schlossberg. The ancestral castle of the Counts of Ortenburg is some distance away .
The eastern long side of the square, which slopes towards the hillside of the castle, is higher than the western, valley-side front of the square. Two- to three-storey plastered bourgeois eaves side houses , some of which have few facade decorations, are characteristic of this upper side . Most of these were designed after the fire of 1834.
The three-storey gable building of the town hall is integrated into this row of houses, the former count's brewery sets a special accent at the north end of the square. On the west side, some mansard hipped roofs from the 18th century are also reminiscent of the count's rule.
The square is conspicuously closed on its narrow sides, which enhances the effect of the square as well as the two free-standing fountains.
