Ensemble Marktstrasse / Heinrich-Sinz-Strasse
The ensemble Market Street / Heinrich-Sinz-Straße in Ichenhausen , a town in the Swabian district of Günzburg in Bavaria , is an architectural ensemble , under monument stands.
The ensemble comprises the center of the late Middle Ages consisting of a market street that narrows towards the former ends closed by gates and widens like a square in the middle at the Catholic parish church of St. Johannes Baptist .
The development of this area goes back to the granting of market rights in 1406 by Messrs von Roth. The development of almost exclusively gabled houses, predominantly late Baroque or Classicist , follow the bends in the street in the direction of the ridge . The town hall , which was built in 1566 as a castle for the local rulers, also fits into this structure.
