The Duck Bay is a small addition to bay in the west of Cumberland West Bay on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located southwest of Jason Harbor .
The German zoologist and doctor August Emil Alfred Szielasko (1864–1928), who mapped this area on a visit to South Georgia in 1906, gave the bay its name. It is probably named after the breeding endemic subspecies of the pointed-tailed duck ( English South Georgia pintail , Latin Anas georgica georgica ).
