The Entferntfiedrige Dornfarn ( Dryopteris remota ) belongs within the family dryopteridaceae to the genus dryopteris .
description
The distant thorn fern is a hemicryptophyte with a short, ascending rhizome . It is 20–90 centimeters high, grows in tufts, is upright, dark green, leathery and coarse. The frond stem and the rhachis are covered with 2-colored scales, which are dark brown at the base and light brown at the edge. The fronds are dark green; the pinnate spindle is 2-3 mm purple-black at the base; the leaflets are slightly lobed. The Sori have a diameter of approx. 1 mm. The veil is mostly occupied by a few (5-30) glands on the edge of the veil and on the surface of the veil. The spores are bean-shaped, the perispora is covered with the finest spines. In addition to well-developed spores, there is aborted material, which is inconsistent in shape and size. The chromosome number is 2x = 123, the species is triploid and apomictic.
General distribution
The distant thorn fern occurs in Europe and Asia (Caucasus, Turkey). In Europe, it occurs in northern Spain, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Switzerland, southwest Germany, Austria, Italy, the former Yugoslavia, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland and Romania.
Locations
The distant-feathered thorn fern grows on shaded (to moderately shaded), fresh, like a little ooze-fresh, also on ooze-moist, base-rich to moderately base-rich, (moderately) acidic, e.g. T. musty-humic, mostly rubble or block-rich soils, mostly in a humid location (preferably near a stream), together with Impatiens noli-tangere , Galium odoratum and Lamium galeobdolon , especially in fresh formations of the beech-fir forest (Asperulo-Fagetum) , seldom also in Aceri-Fraxinetum or in alder forests, also like in fern-rich herbaceous vegetation, here z. Sometimes with Dryopteris affinis .
