Under development research is scientific study of the causes, aspects, characteristics and consequences of development and underdevelopment to understand. The knowledge gained from this is intended to contribute to an understanding of the problems of developing countries and their solution. Since development has numerous ( geographical , economic , political , social , cultural and ecological ) dimensions, development research should ideally be interdisciplinary . It extends across the university areas of economics ( development economics ), social sciences , cultural studies and natural sciences .
